Slow Cooked BBQ Short Ribs Recipe

Easy, breezy, slow-cooked bbq short ribs that are practically fool-proof! You don't have to be a pro chef to make delicious short ribs at home. This recipe is super easy and delivers mouth-watering short ribs. The recipe calls for slow cooking in your oven and just a few ingredients. Make a quick (but yummy) homemade bbq sauce, slice up some onion and drop your short ribs in - no braising, or multiple steps required. I paired mine with wine from one of my favorite wineries in Napa, Castello Di Amorosa! This is the hands down, the best beef short rib recipe made in your oven! (You can also cook in your slow cooker or Crock Pot!)

Ingredients:

Short Ribs

1 white onion (chopped)

BBQ Sauce recipe:

2 cups ketchup

1 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp malt vinegar

2 tbsp garlic powder

2 tbsp paprika

2 tbsp cayenne pepper

1 tbsp spicy mustard

1 tsp molasses

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300.
  2. In a large bowl mix together ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, spice mix, mustard and molasses.
  3. Place short ribs in oven safe dish and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add onions.
  5. Pour bbq sauce over the short ribs and onions.   
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and cook for 3 hours.
  7. Remove foil for last 30 minutes.
