Ingredients
5 tbsp of butter
1 large sirloin steak or 2 medium sliced thin
3/4 cup of diced shallots (sub onion if needed)
1 package of mushrooms (blend of cremini and more if available)
Salt and pepper to taste
Pinch of nutmeg
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup of marsala
1 to 1 1/2 cup of sour cream
- Season steak with salt and pepper
- Put in 1/2 of butter in a skillet and add meat, cooking until desired temperature (about 2-4 minutes on each side)
- Remove meat from the skillet
- Add shallots to pan and cook for 3-5 minutes, then add mushrooms
- Add pepper, salt and nutmeg
- Sweat mushrooms until juices release
- Add garlic clove grated
- Cook for an additional five minutes on medium
- Add marsala and swirl through pan
- Turn heat to low and stir in sour cream
- Add steak back into pan and allow to cook together for 2 minutes without allowing sour cream to bowl
- Serve over noodles, mashed potatoes or dumplings
