Homemade Black Bean Burgers Recipe

 

Ingredients:
1 medium white onion grated
2 cans of black beans rinsed
1 cup of chipotle flavored Panko breadcrumbs or plain Panko breadcrumbs
Garlic powder to taste
Chipotle Seasoning (optional)
Sea salt and pepper to taste
1 egg

Chipotle Topping
2 tbsps mayo
1 tbsp ketchup
chipotle seasoning

  1. Grate onion and move to the side
  2. Mix your onion together with your black beans after rinsing the beans
  3. Mix in your breadcrumbs, garlic powder, chipotle seasoning, salt and pepper
  4. Mix in your egg and mix together into mixture, mashing beans with the back of a spoon as you go
  5. Form your patties (patties will not reduce in size so make them the size you want)
  6. Cook patties on medium high heat (spray if necessary) allowing them to cook for 4-6 minutes on each side so they are cooked through and you have a crisp outside on your burger
  7. Mix together ingredients for chipotle topping and assemble your burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and topping
  8. Enjoy!
