Simple Apple Turnovers

2 tbsp butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
cinnamon to taste
1 box puff pastry
1 egg for egg wash


  1. Melt butter in pan and add chopped apple and sugar and spices
  2. Cook on medium heat to begin cooking apples for about 5-10 minutes
  3. Move to a bowl and put aside allowing apples to cool
  4. Cut puff pastry into squares and preheat oven to 400 degrees
  5. Spoon in a scoop of mixture to the center of the square being careful not to overstuff
  6. Fold over corners to make a triangle shaped pocket
  7. Brush edges with an egg wash to secure
  8. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with a tiny bit of white sugar
  9. Cook at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes
