Mini ‘Crustless’ Apple Pies Made In An Apple

6 Large Apples Red or Green
3 Smaller Apples For Filling
1 Tbsp. Apple Butter
1 Tbsp. Melted Butter
1 Tbsp. Regular Sugar
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
Lemon Juice, Nutmeg, Cinnamon to taste
1 Store bought pie crust
1 Egg beaten for Egg wash

  1. With a large spoon remove center and core of 6 large apples, chop of removed pieces
  2. Peel smaller apples and cut into small chunks for filling
  3. In a large bowl mix both sugars, all spices, lemon juice, butter and apple butter with apples
  4. Scoop filling into your gutted apples
  5. Cut pie crust into strips to cover apples in crisscross fashion
  6. Apply egg wash to crust
  7. Back in a 375 degree oven until crust is brown and apples soft
