Ingredients:
6 Large Apples Red or Green
3 Smaller Apples For Filling
1 Tbsp. Apple Butter
1 Tbsp. Melted Butter
1 Tbsp. Regular Sugar
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
Lemon Juice, Nutmeg, Cinnamon to taste
1 Store bought pie crust
1 Egg beaten for Egg wash
- With a large spoon remove center and core of 6 large apples, chop of removed pieces
- Peel smaller apples and cut into small chunks for filling
- In a large bowl mix both sugars, all spices, lemon juice, butter and apple butter with apples
- Scoop filling into your gutted apples
- Cut pie crust into strips to cover apples in crisscross fashion
- Apply egg wash to crust
- Back in a 375 degree oven until crust is brown and apples soft
